E safety check inspections (pink slips) in Liverpool

Please note that Liverpool Auto Care only perform eSafety Checks (Pink Slips).

When are eSafety Check or Pink Slip Inspections required

Generally speaking, if your vehicle is five years or older your registration renewal notice may warn you that you are due for an eSafety Check (Pink Slip Inspection). This mandatory safety inspection ensures that your vehicle meets all the necessary safety and emission standards before its registration renewal. Only RMS accredited mechanics are allowed to undertake vehicle safety and registration inspections.

At Liverpool Auto Care, we take pride in being an authorised Safety Check Inspection Station (ASCIS) located right in the heart of Liverpool. Our highly trained team of experts is dedicated to ensuring your vehicle meets all the necessary safety requirements and can provide you with a comprehensive eSafety check and RMS Pink Slip inspection to make re-registering your vehicle a breeze.

What is a pink slip?

When it comes to ensuring the safety of your vehicle on the road in New South Wales, there is a mandatory requirement that all cars that are five years old or more must undergo an inspection known as a Pink Slip Inspection. Now referred to as an eSafety Check, this comprehensive examination assesses whether or not your car meets the minimum safety standards that have been set by the state government. This process involves a thorough review of your vehicle, including its brakes, suspension, steering, lights, and tyres, among other critical components. As a responsible vehicle owner, it is your obligation to comply with this requirement and obtain an eSafety Check report before you can renew your car's registration.

Do all vehicles require pink slip inspections?

Light Vehicle Safety Check Inspections must be carried out on a range of light vehicles and a report (aka pink slip) issued before registration renewal is possible, usually as directed by the registration renewal certificate.

Liverpool Auto Care regularly undertake eSafety Check inspections on cars and light commercial vehicles under 5 tonnes (tare) in and around the Liverpool area. We also provide pink slip inspections for light trailers and caravans (250 kg - 2 tonnes Gross), motor cycles (inc sidecars) and buses weighing less than 2.5 tonne (Tare)

(Note: Commercial vehicles with power-operated brakes and Trailers/caravans with breakaway brakes must be inspected at a HVAIS. (Trailers weighing less than 250kg do not require inspection).

Why choose Liverpool Auto Care for my eSafety check?

All work carried out by Liverpool Auto Care is backed by the Repco Authorised Service Nationwide Warranty at over 500 locations Australia wide. You can rest assured that if you choose to have Liverpool Auto Care conduct the needed repairs all work will meet RMS requirements.

What happens after the pink slip inspection?

Following a successful Pink Slip / eSafetyCheck inspection, Liverpool Auto Care will forward your Light Vehicle Safety Check Inspection Report electronically to Roads & Maritime Services.

We can then assist you to purchase the mandatory Green Slip, ensuring CTP insurance requirements are met, after which you are able to register your vehicle as you normally would, (online, in person, by mail etc).

Failed esafety check?

Should your vehicle happen to fail a Pink Slip / eSafetyCheck Inspection, Liverpool Auto Care will prepare a 'repairs needed report'. You can then request Liverpool Auto Care undertake the required repairs or take it to a mechanic of your choosing to have them carried out, but they must be undertaken within 14 days, before the report expires.

Once repairs have been carried out, either by Liverpool Auto Care or the workshop you chose for repairs, you'll need to have another eSafety check.

If you return the vehicle to Liverpool Auto Care within 14 days for the 2nd eSafety Check, no additional fees will apply to have it rechecked. You are of course free to take the vehicle to any eSafety Check stationbut this will result in you being charged a new eSafety Check feeby the mechanic conducting the vehicle inspection.
